INSTRUCTION

French: I offer group and individual French lessons at all levels, and I’m a certified examiner/corrector for the Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF).

English: I provide one-on-one English coaching, group sessions, and workshops in writing, grammar, editing one’s work, and related areas. (I am not trained in ESL instruction.)

Classes and coaching are tailored to fit the needs of the client.

I have extensive teaching experience in a variety of settings, including 15 years at Memorial University, where I taught English (language and literature) and French (language). I’ve tutored children and adults, delivered workshops, and given classes in corporate and community settings.

I have known Claire Wilkshire since September 2003, when I was a mature student and she was a professor in Memorial University’s English department.  Dr. Wilkshire was an excellent teacher; she carefully prepared for lectures; she was fair, easy to approach and always strove to make the course material interesting and accessible.  Her ability to provide superior feedback on work and assignments (for classes that were never less than 40 students) demonstrates her commitment to the ongoing development of her students. I was very impressed with Dr. Wilkshire’s methodology and process. Whenever courses she instructed aligned with my program, I would register for those classes.

I have also taken French conversation courses with Dr. Wilkshire. Her strong interest in grammar of all languages and her creativity in getting students to speak make for very quick classes.
